Does this look like Blue?

Since I have never seen my snake shed, and I have yet to see her eyes cloud over, I was wondering if this, in your more experienced opinions, was the start of a blue phase. I have never seen her "shimmer" like this before, and she has the same sort of shine on her belly. Plus, her back looks a little "dull".

What do you guys think?

I don't think so, i'm no expert but the eyes would be much more cloudy and they look quite clear. Here is a pic of blue phase:

(this was not taken by me The site I got it from is was http://www.aqualandpetsplus.com/Snakes50.jpg and i also isn't a corn but that is what their eyes go like. If i find a better pic i will post later

hard to tell with those photos..........but snakes will tend to "dull" in their pre-shed state. some corns will not have "blue eyes" also, so that is not the only way to tell. they tend to become less active and allot (not all) will refuse meals before, during and after the shed cycle. the best way to judge is just an overall view of the whole body. you can visibly notice a lack of "sheen" or a "dulling" almost ugly looking skin. this can be seen on both the ventral and dorsal sections of the body. i know this isn't much information, but hopefully it will help.

p.s........your first picture looks to be "post-shed" as you can see the "shiney" and "slick" look of your snake. the second one looks physically "duller"
:shrugs:

Look at my avatar. That is an eye of a snake in blue. Yours may be in the very, very early stages. Just keep an eye on her, and when you see an eye like that <-------, she will be shedding soon.

Thanks, everyone, for your replies. I appreciate the input. I am just a little overly sensitive, perhaps. She is, afterall, my first snake, on top of actually belonging to my young daughter. I want to make sure that I am doing everything I can to ensure a long and healthy life that the two of them can share to gether.

If you think she may shed try to increase humidity a bit. A quick daily misting or a hide with moist towel can help.

Do they tend to not feed when they are getting ready to shed?

I ask because she just ate her biggest meal yet today...her first fuzzy. And she attacked it. She last ate 4 days ago...a very small pinky, so I imagine she was pretty hungry. But I fed her a slit fuzzy and she did her first "strike attack", while I was doing the "fuzzy dance" with the hemostats. Normally, I shake it a little bit, she looks at it, then I put it in the bottom of the feeding tub, and she slowly grabs it, turns it around head first, and swallows. Today, she struck at it and took it right from the hemo's. Still haven't seen her constrict, yet, though. Not even the first time I fed her, which was a live pinky. She swallowed it...squeaks and all...pretty disturbing, actually.

The blue "shine" on her head in the first picture seems to be getting more "complete", instead of just in spots. I think she may be getting ready to shed, but I am just seeing it in the very early stages. I measured her at 15.5" when I first got her, and again the other day at 17.5", so she's grown 2" in length, and my roomate commented that she looked "fatter" today before I fed her. I don't have a digital scale on which to weigh her, yet. That's next on the list of purchases. Her eyes have not clouded over, unless they did, and then cleared up overnight. I don't think so, though...

She also got a new vivarium today, complete with aspen bedding and silk foliage to play around in, which she seems to be enjoying immensely...

I have some that will eat. Some that won't. Usually I offer them something and if they want it they take it. Sometimes you have to put it right in front of their noses or they just don't see it though. Most of mine go thru a noticeable stage that I call "pre-blue". They are dull, but not blue eyed yet.

What Meg said. Some will eat, others won't. It depends on the individual snake. One of my ball pythons will hiss at me if I offer food when he is in shed, but all of my corns will eat.

Well...I came home from work last night and took my snake out of her cage. I noticed that her belly checks were extremely subdued. I went into the kitchen for some better lighting, and noticed the eyes have started to cloud over.

From this observation, it appears as though I caught my snake going into the very early stages of blue when I posted this topic originally. Now, it may have been pure luck that I posted this 4 days ago, and she's going blue now, or I may have simply noticed it very early. But here's a picture of her this morning...

Yep, that is definitely blue. You have a good eye.
Well, either I'm observant, or over protective ;). I noticed the little things early on, so now I need to be cautious that I don't miss something big
