I have been in France for the last 9 days for easter, and i had arranged for a friend of mine to come over every two days to change the water, and feed him once. He did all of these things, but on the night i came back Shaka(my snake) struck out at me and tried to bite me. I am not sure of what to do next and any advice would be appreciated. (BTW my snake is in the blue stage of shedding, and my friend did not touch him once while i was away).

Wait till he's done shedding before you bother him, then just start handling him as usual. Once he sees you aren't going to hurt him and also aren't oging to put him back if he strikes at you, he will most likely stop. He also probably won't be so brave once he's out of his viv. How old is he?

Also since it appears from your signature he's only 4 months old I can tell you even if he did actually tag you, It's more of a shock then anything. The bite doesn't hurt, especially from a baby. Like Nanci said, don't put him back if he does bite you. That just trains him to thinking that if he bites he gets to go back to his comfy home right away. Just hold him till he calms down and then put him back. Hope this helps. Good luck.
