alright well two questions is it mating season again i've had my snake for a couple years its a male and if i recal last year he was all active and crawling around like he is now and he's not eating so he just looking for a mate right??? and the other day i picked him up and looked at his scales and they looked all cracked and dry like they could use some lotion or something whats going on i havn't changed anything with his cage he has plenty water and the weather hasn't changed too drastically plenty of ventilation for him?? is there anything i could do to to moisten them up like put a wet paper towel in his cage or something????

Yes, it is mating season.

What is the humidity in your snake's cage? You can put what is called a moist hide in your snake's cage to help. Moist paper towels or sphagnum moss in a container that your snake can get into will do.

oh alright paper towels will do so how long does this season last i hate buying mice and that he won't eat or will barely kill?? any idea a month maybe two???

The dry skin could be the remains of an attempted shed; if so they need to be removed carefully and immediately. You can do this by bathing the snake in cool water (not cold, not warm) and letting them run through your hands or a soft towel.

To help shed in future, you can follow Susan's advice and create a moist hide or 'mist' inside the viv before shedding.

RE: how long breeding season lasts, this depends on the snake, for some it is a few weeks and for some it is a few months.

Why not feed pre-killed? It has other benefits that being cheap and easy (the main one obviously being no chance of injury to the snake if he refuses to eat or doesn't kill them quick enough).

I usually try and attempt a feed every 2-3 weeks. Your snake will start eating again when it is ready. For the small cost of a mouse or two, it's not worth potentially starving the thing!

alright well i put some moist towels in my snakes hid container and his scales look even more dried out the medium i'm using is that dirt that comes in a brick and you add water to it and it becomes dirt that couldn't be the reason and he is next to my window he has a water bowl should get some sort of a hudmidity hideaway.... does this irritate his skin, make it itchy or irritating??
