Took the trash out about an hour ago and caught the "Speed King" catching some rays! I usually see Blackmore about once a week, but it's been a while so I was pleased to find him this morning. Sometimes I catch him drinking from my AC drain, nice to see he's still around.

Have you ever caught him?
We have at least two that hang around our house (although I haven't seen either of them for a while). Joe caught the larger of the two once - don't know if he ever took pics or not - and then released it. It was NOT happy to be kept in a sterlite tub, even for a short time period!

No, I've never tried to catch this one. A few years back I caught a presumable sibling the day Hurricane Wilma came through here. It was not a pleasant experience for either of us :grin01: Thinking I would take him in for an evening, he absolutely hated captivity and actually played dead when I released him! Must have been part hognose :crazy02:

I remember seeing pics of the one Joe caught :wavey:

Here's the "wilma" snake, "knothead"

That's very cool that your porch is "safe" enough for him to come out and do his snakey thing. Thanks for sharing pictures!

My house is reptile friendly, and most of my neighbors are considerate!
Thanks :wavey:

I think everyone in Florida should have their very own yard snake.... :D I caught the big one a couple weeks after getting my hook. I thought a little practice was in order, and found out it's not as easy as it looks...

You have the better idea Mike, of just running into them sunning...

I have seen at least 4 different Racers, one corn, and a Yellow Rat in my yard. Not to mention the Gopher Tortoises.
