Easter Chicks!

Eriathiel

Short and Sweet
So I picked up a couple of Jersey Black Giants yesterday. I'm raising the chicks for my BF's dad, until they are large enough to hang out in the coop on their own! I was going to be Rhode Island Reds but they were sold out, and these two were too cute to resist!

So here they are, Lucy and Ethel! I just adore their cute little fuzzy yellow butts! Lucy has more yellow on her beak then Ethel which is how I tell them apart.
My pups, Cordi and Syd, are just DELIGHTED. Syd has been around chickens before but Cordi hasn't. Cordi took it upon herself to give Lucy a bath. It is amazing how gentle both dogs are (though I won't leave them alone with the chicks!). All I have to say is "where are the babies???" and they RUN to the room the chickens are being kept it!

Hey, chickens aren't a native species! Neither are pigs, horses, cows, sheep, goats, cats... Is HR669 going to affect them?

LMAO. That was my first thought when I read this thread.
I think chicks and ducklings are the CUTEST things. but alas you won't be able to own them for long apparently...lol

Very cute, Izzy! They grow SO fast, almost like you can see them grow. I love chickens.

Thanks Nanci - I know what you mean about growing every day they are a little bigger... and these guys are going to be monsters!
