Egg cutting question....

If any of you "cut" your eggs to ease in the hatchlings pipping when do you do so?

My eggs have been incubating for about 65 days now and show no sign of denting in at all. I was told this would happen around this point.

Thanks for any help, this is my first time breeding.

I believe Mathew (blueapplepaste) had a clutch that went over 80 days last season. Incubation temperature and fluctuation is a major factor. At 82-84 degrees my eggs consistently hatch at 58-62 days. It is probably that elevation may also be a factor on hatch time.

I don't cut at all. I learned that if the snake doesn't come out, their is a reason. All of the eggs I've ever cut provided deformed hatchlings that had to be put down anyway.

Elevation could be a factor but ours are pretty close to the same. I don't know if I can wait another 15days.

I agree with this, if it can not fight its way out.. well then it shouldn't be alive.

That's my view as well. If it's not strong enough to get out of the egg, then it shouldn't be in the gene pool.
