eggs? (for food, not laid)

Has anybody fed their snake an egg? Chicken eggs you buy in the store (even small) are picked grade "A" and have very hard shells to prevent breakage. I would never try it as once it breaks, the shell would probably be too sharp but I found a website that said wild caught corns may take quail eggs. I don't ever plan on trying it out but I was wondering if anybody here has.

Chicken eggs are huge compared to quail eggs.
And there is always a salmonella risk.....
I wouldn't try it.

All reptiles carry salmonella, so it should not be a worry with trying to feed eggs, or chicks for that matter. Eggs are pretty much 100% protien, but I highly doubt that many captive breed animals will take them. I have bantam chickens that lay eggs, and once tried feeding an F1 normal a fresh egg, but he never even gave it a second glance. Day old chicks on the other hand are very good choices, especially for fattening up underweight animals.
