Enrichment

I thought I'd add this thread so that i could share the enrichments i made for my snake (called 'beads' for anyone that hasnt met him before! :) ).

Its really very simple and ive seen similar ideas before involving a toilet roll; all it is a box that ive threaded string through and pinned under the lid on the cold side of my vivarium ie. a suspended box.

Although its a simple idea my snake absolutely loves it, as i do, as i get to see him 'missioning' his way up and down all the time :crazy02:

This alteration in the heights available to him in the viv i feel has been very enriching for beads, first of all because of increased exercise in the long reaching and streching he does to get in and out, but also possibly because of the 'commanding position' the higher elevation gives him, could be something to do with safety maybe?.... or a power trip? :crazy02:
It pretty much making my normal cold side hide useless though

Anyways here he is, just relaxing/beholding his domain!
(hope the pics turn out ok, and this thread has inspired!)

Thats kinda cool.I just set my snake up in a 75 gal.tank,so she has a bit more "head room".
I'm thinking a branch that leads to some sort of a look out/ambush
(being a bow hunter,,I know the beauty in a well concealed perch high in a tree

Choco would love that...He really likes anything new. I put a piece of wood I cut off Jakes giant branch in Choco's viv last night, and he was all over it until I went to bed, and he'd been out playing for an hour before that! He has so much energy.

Wow lol what an awesome idea. How does he get up there? Have youg to any pics of him actually 'missioning' up there, as they would be great to see?

These are pictures of beads for length and to see how he gets in and out of the box, i think his muscle tone is improving because of it too  :shrugs:

beads is a few months over a year old now, and is a little under three feet long
