Thank you all who have given me advice on how to find my escaped cornsnake. But unfortunately I have had no luck. I have put down all kinds of traps and none have worked yet. How long can a snake live without food is my question? Because my snake has been lost now for two weeks. Should I continue to look for him?

Cornsnakes can easily go 6-8 weeks without food. I certainly keep looking. Make sure that water is available.

Hi,

Excuse me for butting in! One of my Corns escaped for about a month a while ago, she is only a juvenile and I was worried I'd lost her for good!

One evening I came home from work and there she was under the radiator in the same room as I keep my viv's!

I was told that they rarely move more than ten yards away from where they escape from, my advise would be to search high and low, under furniture, behind curtains, etc. I'd also leave some water where your Corn can easily find it, Ie. around the perimeter of the room!

Good luck - I'm sure your Corn will turn up soon!

we found one of our hatchlings 40 days later about 3 feet from where it escaped - no harm done - just leave water out

I've found 3 escapee's, two different instances (yes, two lost in one day- should've stayed in bed), in two different houses. All 3 were found days later in the basement of the houses they escaped in. The escapes occured, both, out of tanks in the SECOND STORY of the houses. I, to this day, have not figured out what route these guys took to get down there (stairs vs vents) but that's always the first place I tell people to look. The extreme highs and the extreme lows.

Good luck
