Extended Deadlines for the International Photo Contest

Hey everyone, I'm posting this to announce that the deadline for the International portion of the Halloween Photo Contest is being extended to encourage more people to participate, since we had so few enter their photos.

The new Deadline for all entries is:
October 30th at 11:59 PM PST (GMT -8 Hours)

The Polls will be posted before noon on October 31st (PST time) and will run until 11:59 PM (Again PST time) on November 2 to allow people enough time to vote, with the winners being announced on November 3rd.

All of the current entrants preferred to extend the original deadlines as opposed to combining the categories, which was the alternative option.

Remember, this portion of the contest is open to ALL Non-US members!

I think theres been so few entries simply because people are confusesd about what where why who. I know I still am, and heck I'm donating prizes!

I just don't feel it was "advertised" enough...

Interesting... seeing as how it appears that the U.S. side of the contest had about the same amount of 'advertising' and there were far more entrants on that side than this side.

I did point out that I was searching for someone to help with the International side and I only had one offer that unfortunately didn't come until the last minute.

The rules were posted fairly up front in the photo gallery, with links in the original thread - that I might add was continuously bumped during the most of the month. I do agree that word of mouth could have played a bigger part though.

On the other hand Elle, you were aware that the contest was taking place and if you were so confused about it, you could have asked. I know you knew that at least three of us were involved in it. And while I'm not here as often as Steph and Bekers, I did do my best to answer those questions that were sent to me. :p

Just making a point, not trying to single you out or anything, as that could have applied to at least a few other members as well.

ANYwho... the whole reason for this thread is to try and generate more interest in the contest and give people a chance to ask questions. So come on... lets see some more entries!!

I'm just confused about it... thats all. It seemed like a bit of a slap dash rush thing. But thank you to everyone who did put it together. It's nice to see a contest around here... I would enter but I am donating a prize :(

You are more than welcome to still enter Elle, that question came up more than once when we were planning the contest. The only people that pretty much aren't allowed to participate are the three of us who coordinated the rules and are running both portions of the contest. I'm further making it a point to NOT vote in any of the international polls since I will have far too much inside information regarding who submitted what.

I would have gladly let you know sooner if I'd known this was holding you back from entering. =)
