fat butt weight gain!

So remember when I got a few snakes end of November, they ate the first time in December. So red who I call fat butt was a discarded breeder project, she was thin but not super thin, she looked somewhat even. She was 79 grams a month after I got her and first weigh in...

she assploded!!!

I fed her a tad less than munson plan... she's now 189 grams..... 110 grams in 4 months...With size she also grew super cuddly.. she went from wild snake to cuddle snake..

She is now one adult mouse every ten days.. Granted.. She probably should have been around 100 110 grams or so when I got her so not AS huge weight gain.. This is normal assplosion? or is it same answer all snakes are so different?

have to say the older these guys grow and develop personalities the more I love them. They are all so amazing and to see how the scales are changing. it's like every shed is a surprise on the colorization.

Avalon the phantom shed tonight, when I took her out it looked like someone had taken silver nail polish and dotted every tip where they connect or little rhine stones.

Squiggly my lavender stripe is turning more purply and pink my male lavender Levi is turning super pink.

it is amazing how they grow <3 I am so upset with myself for not starting this sooner, never had such amazing little pets.

it's amazing how different they are when it comes to growth/weight gain. My girls gains and loses slowly but my male does both quickly. As long as your snake has a healthy shape (like a loaf of sandwich bread) and is eating the right sized food at appropriate intervals you should be just fine.

Sir Snakes A Lot says "I like big butts and I cannot lie, you other brothers can't deny, when a snake walks in with an itty bitty waist and a round thing in your face you get..." well, you know the rest.

Many of mine exploded after the 100g mark, it also depends on the size prey that makes them gain like crazy. Totally normal, but if she is getting too "husky" spread out her feeding days a little. Make her work off that butt.

Baby got back.

Roflmao Smigon those lyrics was the best version yet!! I have followed the Munson plan regarding size but she has been on once a week feedings sometimes 6 days sometimes 8 days since I got her. She got switched to adult mice two feedings ago and I am now doing every 10 days since she is still growing. If she had been "fitter" I would have done once every 7-8 but yeah I am thinking that every ten should be good until she gets fitter again or this might just be her "size" too.. She is supposedly three years this year and she was on the small side for a snake her "age" but this explosion I was not prepared for I wish I had taken measurements so I could compare. I really love how her temperament has developed, for the first 3 months she was hiding in her hides, would only eat in her hides. Now she strikes, coils and comes out and greets me when I open the bin as so many others.

But yes I am taking your advice and feeding her a little further apart for sure. I don't want them to die early of heart issues.

I just about died laughing when I read that. I'm not a corn owner, yet, but I've heard about a lot of snakes growing SUPER quick like that before. My granite burmese has taken off like that in the past months. She is gonna be huge soon lol
