Hi guys...I have been in the process of getting fed ex certified and had a couple questions. First of all, I finally was in contact with my representative today and although he was knowledgeable about the process to get a reptile shipping waiver...he would not give me an account number to use for the charge of shipping in my test package. Was I incorrect in my interpretation that others were able to obtain this? Or was I incorrect, and we the shipper have to pay to send in the test package?

Also, when you send in the test package I know you pack it just as you would a snake with the deli cup and all...do you include an actual ice pack as well? is this necessary for the fake package?

To get an account # you need to go to FedEx.com and open an account that will be yours forever.

I think I used an exhausted heat pack, just to be safe. Good luck!
 
I put the cold pack in but didn't activate it. It's been so long I can't remember how I got the free account number you can use to charge it to, but maybe you can try to call the package testing directly to find out. I do remember they were really helpful back when I went through the process. They knew a lot more about it than my rep too! If you open your own account that will work, but they will bill it to you. Maybe they just don't pay for it anymore though :shrugs:
