Feeding after shed

I know this has been covered before but I'm wondering about timing. Some say feeding right after a shed is OK, others say you can also wait until the next feeding. If the snake shed on Sunday and I feed on Monday and usual feeding day is Friday, when should I feed next? Should I feed early (4 days between these feeds to feed on Friday), switch days to Mondays, or feed the following Friday (11 days between feedings)? Or should I just wait until Friday so there's 14 days between feeds with a shed in the middle?

I think you can safely feed after the shed or the day after, but waiting a few days more until next feeding day wont hurt the snake unless it has been through a really long time without food. So you can adjust feeding day to the new date or wait until the usual one.

I prefer to feed the day after shed and adjust to new date, but I understand this may be inconvenient for others' timetables.

Is it an adult or a baby? I just wait till the next scheduled feeding, but I have 75 snakes or so. With one, if you don't mind changing the feeding day, you can just feed the day of/day after the shed.

She's real young, 6 or 7 months. The let store said she was about 6 months and I got her a month ago. If I wait till normal feeding day that'll be Friday and she'll have gone 14 days between feedings. If I feed tonight, when should I feed her next?

I have done both (feed right away/wait till feeding day) with my snake, all pretty much based on my family schedule. My snake has been on weekly schedule, we usually feed on Tuesday night, to ensure open handling time during the weekend.

If he shed few days before feeding day, I just waited till next scheduled feeding. There were times he shed just past Tuesday, I would feed him after shed, and maybe do the next feeding at around 9 days, and get him back to the "feed on Tuesday" within next couple of feedings.

I wouldn't worry too much about a few days longer between feedings. And if you don't have many snakes and not particular about any day of the week to feed, why not just feed tonight, and feed again after your regular interval?

I always feed the evening after the shed unless it is during initial acclimation. I use the snake keeper app so it just updates to put the new feeding day on the calendar.

I just had my second snake shed during initial acclimation (that's 2 of the 3 snakes I've owned recently!) when I didn't even know he was in shed. Little snakey surprises. I'm going to give him a couple of more days and then feed.

I actually fed Rufus while he was in Blue one time. He was completely blue but was not hiding, and he was acting like he was hungry. So I offered him a mouse and he snatched it right up. So that particular time he just kept feeding right on schedule.

But this last time he shed (several days ago) he hid a lot more than the previous time. Then he finally shed, and I offered him a mouse the next day and he refused it! Yup, the only time he has ever refused a meal. So I waited 4 days and tried again and he wolfed it down.

So it's probably going to be different with each person and snake, and probably even different from shed to shed. I think it's best to offer a meal, but understand that occasionally we may have to chuck the mouse in the trash if it's refused. It's gonna happen from time to time.

I feed babies every five days, but I'm a little flexible if something comes up. Other people feed every six or seven days. I certainly wouldn't go longer than that (except during the blue phase- it doesn't hurt to miss one meal).
