Happy new feeding bins!

so i finally got to the point where i needed something to put the snakes in while i cleaned and they ate. I was super happy to find these stacking bad boys at target for 12 bucks today!

They sealed all the way around and they have dark sides so the snakes feel secure. All! of the snakes ate in them today :p Even the picky pueblan milk!

Gives my dog a chance to stare them down as well!

They just looked cool and felt like sharing!

dont know if this little vid works
but ill try!

I love it!! LOL! Those are so neat and I wish I had thought of it. In reality though, I have so many snakes that I don't have the time to remove each one to their own feeding bin to feed. I used to like doing that but it would probably turn feeding day into feeding days.

I use something like that under Isabel's 40 to store superworms and for Olivia's feeding bin!

I was completely thinking about getting those for the same reason but I wasn't sure if it would work. Now I know. Thank you!

I love your dog!!

That's innovative. Just a good temporary holding spot so you can clean the cages.

EXCELLENT idea! I hope you never lose any of your snakes...your dog looks veeeerrrry interested!

I think she THINKS shes tough enough but shes terrified of snake sheds lol, id love to see her reaction to a real snake hah

I snagged them and man, it just made the whole feeding/cleaning day easier lol
But yeah past a point it might be more of a chore an a help hah!

Did i get the video to work!?!
I hate fumbling through this stuff! X3

If that didnt work, you should be able to just visit the link lol

Here!

I'm going to have to get me some of those sturdy racks like you have sometime soon... like really soon lol

This makes we want to crack open a Guinness and yell BRILLIANT!:crazy02:

How old is that Pueblan? Hes a pretty thing but with a bit of an attitude. I have one thats going on two years old now. Luckily hes a sweet heart (as far as Pueblans go :eats02: ) weighing in at just a few grams over 100.

Thanks for the idea!

Plastic storage bins are awesome. If they align flush in the back you could stack them (or similar ones) and back heat them with 11" Flexwatt heat tape and a thermostat. Voila, you've made a snake rack :)

the little one striking at my dog is a nelsons milk snake, shes just over a year old now, the pueblan is up in the second row, now she...shes got a tude, but its a flailing whipping you with her tail musking kind of tude hah. The nelsons just wants to eat everything put in front of her lol. I feed all of mine in a bin so she knows if shes in there its time to eat! In your hands though shes like butter and prolly my next easiest to work with. She loves getting her picture taken and relaxing in the sun when we go out for photos :)

Along similar lines, has anyone tried one of these 3 drawer storage carts as a cheap rack or are they just too flimsy?

You know i saw those at target but there was enough room to put my finger over the edge into the bin, an with a few smaller snakes and rascaly rat snakes i didnt trust them lol. BUT i would think for bigger snakes they would be totally fine! These ones were only a foot deep and wide but had no wiggle out spaces that would make me worry :p
