Feeding box

Just a quickie.

How long should i leave the snake in the feeding box before moving it back to its viv? I was thinking until the mouse is 1/4 down.

Thanks

Mine usually start moving around the tub looking for a way out when they have the mouse far enough down. I just wait until that happens then move them back.

Fair enough.
If i'm honest i fed her the first time last week in her viv, i didnt want to stress her out too much.

But i'm going to get into the habit of using a feeding box, before anyone slates me for it.

I think it's a pretty much even split here between the in-tank feeders and feeding tub fans. There are pros and cons to both, and both work. I don't think it's a divisive issue in the same way that others are - I wouldn't expect a slating for using either technique.

I'm tempted to stick with the in-tank as shes very docile and im using kitchen roll as substrate.

I guess in the end it's whatever works best for both snake and owner. Certainly with kitchen roll, you won't have the risk of her accidentally swallowing bits of substrate.

Thats what i was thinking. Makes spot cleaning easier at this age/size as the fecal drop is tiny.

I use paper towels or newspaper with most of mine (all but the tiniest babies & burrowers), and feed everyone in their enclosures... works for me, so I don't think there's a problem if it works for you.
