Crazy Tarantula Lady
I'm going to look at a clutch of Opal's tomorrow, they are fairly young and not all have eaten yet. I don't mind if they haven't eaten but am wondering if I need to do anything special for a first feeding. I have plenty of frozen 1 day pinks and will have live in just a few days.

Nope, other than letting them settle in for a few days first. Good choice there. I just got my first opal today.

Try to get one that's already eating, will make your life easier. And yes, wait a week or so and let them settle in before feeding.

I'm hoping that the one I pick will be feeding but so far only one out of 5 have. They aren't even two weeks old yet so that might have something to do with it.
I know I should wait but I have spent the last three months looking for a female Opal for my male, I'm not risking loosing her.

Can you put down a deposit on the opal you want (or pay for it outright) but wait for it to start feeding before you take it home?

After talking to the breeder more, we decided to wait a couple more weeks. I was the one being impatient as I want her home RIGHT NOW.
