Ok..this is probably an incredibly ignorant question, but ..do females produce eggs even without the presence of a male?? sorry for the ignorance..

And are their any special things to watch out for if you have a female? i.e behaviour/needs etc??

Yes, adult females can produce eggs without a male. Normally the eggs will be slugs. Every snake is different, so behavior questions are hit and miss.

ok..so about slugs..how will i know when she's going to produce them...or when she's eggbound, and how will i tell the difference?
and if she does produce them, do i just throw them away, cause there's probably not much point in incubating them cause they're not fertillized right??
just quite concerned, cause i'm located rather far from any herp vet..and if her producing eggs poses a concern to her health, there might be some trouble getting her help quick

If there is no male then she will only produce infertile eggs so no point in trying to incubate them. But if she has been with a male and layed eggs they may be fertile and in about 6-7 weeks may have a second clutch of eggs that may be fertile without having been in with a male for a second time.

If no male and she has eggs she should lay them easily as the slugs are usualy alot smaller. (She will probably lay them under her hide).
