finally got a job in a shop i have been looking for forawhile. getting paid 13.50 an hour to work on cars. cant get much better than this!

not only do we do regular work we do high performance. so i get to do alot of hih performance best day of my life :D and at 13.50 gettin around 25 hours a week. ill get 40 a week when i get out of school man this is great i can actually pay of my truck sooner! :D

also another benfit is they will pay for my ASE tests for all 8 areas! thats like 400 bucks to take all those tests! and its free :) im soo happy

ASE- automotive service excellence. if your ASE certified you took tests in certains areas of a car (chassis, brakes, engines, a/c , transmission. ect) then you become certified to work n that area.

if you take you car to a shop ask for an ASE tech ASe techs do much better job and get paid way better.

Congrats!

One of my first jobs was in an auto repair shop. I know how hard mechanics have to work to learn all that stuff.

not to mention i can also work on hybrids. so i am very useful. i learn hybrids on my own. i took my own time to learn them. so i can fix them pretty well and they have a hybrid tech so it works pretty well

Congratulations!

I had a friend who was a certified mechanic (retired now). He said it was really hard recruiting young guys into the field - said most didn't want a job that got your hands dirty, lol! He made some good $$, and said it is a great career to get into if you love cars. So congrats on getting paid well to do something you love!

awesome. congrats on it, i know the exact feeling of getting a good job in a shop. im a tech as well. no ase's yet but my company pays for them so its a great plus side. what i earn an hour and in a day depends on the work and jobs i do. but im just entry level and do smaller stuff until they see im ready to move up but i make 20 to 30 an hour sometimes when i get good jobs. and its good cause if we have no work they pay me 8 an hour to just stand there.

just remember if you have time to lean you have time to clean. every boss likes a guy who keeps his bays clean and helps keep the shop tidy.

lol

i have no ase's yet. but i did take a class on hybrids and diesels. so i can do alot. i love my job. and i keep my bay clean. only downside was i had to have my own tools and i didnt have a big box just a normal sized box but thankfully my boss gave me a box and a uniform.

i couldn't do commision until my truck is paid off. this is a small shop so they pay hourly.
