Well we finally found a snake.After weeks of nice weather and no signs, my youngest son alerted me to this little guy while we were fishing!!!

but for some reason he's the third one i've found with a small peice of tail missing...

this is where he dissapeared once I let him go. He was VERY determind to get in there, i'm guessing they are breeding now!

and one of the biggest snails I've ever seen here.Can't wait to go again!
 
Awesome! It's great when you can get the kids involved. They get SOOOOOO excited! Congrats!

About the missing tail tips...do you think, being watersnakes, they are "escapees" from the mouth of a large brown trout or bass? I have seen smaller snakes get taken from the water surface sveeral times over the last 10 years of being a fisherman, and I've even tied flies to resemble small snakes for use in some local bass ponds. Just one possible explanation...maybe??

That's an interesting thought.It never even entered my mind, there are all kinds of bass, pike and some walleye in this river!!:)
 
I am AWFUL at catching frogs. Never could do it. I lack the touch haha.

I see nothing by me but when we got camping its good for a bit of everything. Sadly when my family is camping this year I will be in Nursing School blah.
