It is very normal for this species to be a secretive type. I sometimes do not see my adult for a week at a time and when it comes to feeding him I need to seek him out in his many hiding spots. He is also probably digesting his last meal you just gave him. Don't worry! He is just fine!

Ps...Welcome to the forums! and good luck with your first snake! He looks good!

Welcome to the forum!

Yep, hiding away is totally normal behaviour for a cornsnake. To be honest, I pretty much NEVER see my cornsnake in the tank - I only see him when I pull him out to handle or feed. He probably moves around when you're not there to see him. Relax

Most snakes are shy, some like to boot around and be visable but I think if you just got him it's too early to tell. He will need time to settle down. I had mine for 3 months before I started seeing him peek his head out now and then, and he seems to be getting more confident as time goes on. My other I've had for a month, I haven't seen him out yet.

And welcome to the forms! nice looking normal you have there.
