Ok so i went to the pet shop picked up a male and female ... Had them about 3 days total .... I believe the female was already preg from the store ... So today i go to look in their house to find the male dead ... His back legs had no skin left and his read end was wide open .... What happened .. I fed them carrots and cheerios the night b4 but i do usually feed them a special mix my pet store makes on site ....

Any help would be great !

Mice are just like people. The females can be viscous. If you are going to put a breeding group together it is best to buy weanlings that are not yet sexually mature. Get one male and 2 or 3 females and let the grow up together. Then they will become a family and be fine.

If you put a mature male in with a mature female, she often will not except him and may kill him.

Hahaha ... The male was younger than the female ..Weirdly though they all did grow up together so i am unsure as to why she killed him... once she has her babies i will be probable keep her as a pet since i have grown to like her..and just start again ..

Thanks Everyone for the help and humor :)

I had this happen to me when I bought two adult mice from a pet store. I found the male with an eaten off scrotum and gouged out eye. I guess he didn't know what "no means no" meant.
