First Fuzzy

DollysMom

It never gets old!
No pics. I didn't want to disturb the process in any way.

I dangled the fuzzy by the tail. Dolly struck mid body. Then he worked around and swallowed head first. It did take longer than a pinkie. He pretty much inhaled the last couple of pinkies, but this was a lot more work for him. It was amazing to see him take the larger prey. It was 4 to 5 grams (4 when weighed separately but 5 with dolly on the scale-- so much for my postal scale).

When I returned him to the viv, he went straight to the warm hide. So far so good. Now I'm into the same watching and waiting everyone seems to go through when sizing up. He definitely will not be disturbed for anything! Keeping my fingers crossed.

Let me preface this by saying I am not a supporter of power feeding, but bumping up your snake in mouse size is the best way for them to go through a growth spurt!

Good luck, I'm sure Dolly will be just fine! ;)

Thanks Jessicat.

I'm not into power feeding either, especially since this little guy is not a breeder, just a beloved pet; however it will be interesting to see how he grows on the fuzzies. He weighed in at 28 grams before feeding yesterday so is well into small fuzzy range according to the Munson Plan. His girth definitely was good for it, too.

I hear this is usually the first growth spurt! So far so good. He's just sleeping it off in his warm hide, which is great.
