And what if a year from now you find your 1 male belly up? You might want to keep 2.2 and if everyone looks good after a while, sell the last boy then...better safe than sorry.
 
My biggest worry is sexing them wrong. I've only ever popped 1 snake and it was a "female"...not too reassuring. I will probably end up keeping more than 1.2 just to make sure I have a complete pair.
