First pics back from Yosemite!

Down with the sickness
I have LOTS of pics I want to share but I must get around to unpacking and feeding before I spend all my time cropping and posting. Here are just a handful, I decided to start with the Herp related pic. A lovely Rubber Boa we found while hiking. We really wanted to do more herping, but hiking with three 11 year olds tends to scare all the critters in a mile radius. I guess this poor Boa was too slow to run. ;) Hubby and I had planned to get up early the last morning and go for a sunrise herp walk but I guess we had too much tequila around the campfire the night before, since we didn't wake up until around 9am.
Then I threw in a pic of Half Dome and Cascade Creek. Cascade Creek was one of the smaller falls there, but I thought it was the most beautiful how it "cascaded" down the rocks.

What gorgeous scenery. Haven't really seen anything like that since I moved back to the right coast (used to live in Redmond WA). Finding that little rubber boa must have been pretty satisfying. Those are cool snakes. :)

OH WOW, I want to go there! That scenery is breathtaking! And of course the rubber boa is a plus!

Sounds like you had a great time. We missed your posts. It's nice to have you back. Wow, gorgeous pics... makes me want to take a trip. Hubby was just mentioning a couple days ago how close we were to Yosemite.

That Rubber Boa is really pretty. I've always thought those were neat snakes.

Those are beautiful pictures! Thank you so much for sharing them with us... Ive never been there so its always nice to see places youve never been to in pictures!! :)

Those are great pics Carol. My brother, my son, and I climb to the top of half dome once a year. This year we're going in September. Last year my son and I came within 30 feet of a bobcat. It's a little different/scary when they're not in a cage. Lol. You're so lucky finding a rubber boa. All we ever find is Blue Bellies.

Thanks everyone! Wow VJ, I'm impressed Trevor could rough out that hike. Jeram and I were contimplating a more "vigorous" hike next year. I think we would go to the top of Yosemite Falls instead of Half Dome though. I have bad knees and both will be tough for me, but that ladder thing you need to use on Half Dome would do me in. I also have a fear of hieghts so I also want to do it just to challenge myself.
Now that I have seen what it is like in late April/early May I don't think I will go any other time of year, unless going in the winter to possibly ski. For anyone planning a "one and only trip" I'd definitely go during these months. The falls are at thier best, the weather is pleasant, and the crowds are low. In the summer and early fall, the waterfalls are still nice, but not as nice. There are a lot of people and it's hot.
BTW, those are Jeram's nasty camping fingernails, not mine. ;)
