Hi and welcome! You'll find a lot of information just by rummaging through these forums or can use the search function to home in on a particular topic.

Having said that, you'll find there's a lot of ways to prepare pinkies, and everyone has a favorite way. On your intro thread you said it ate two pinkies already for you. Were they live? Will these be your snake's first F/T pinkies? If so, your snake may refuse the first time. If you do get a refusal, wait another 4 days or so and try again.

Either way, what I do is very simple. I run the tap water as hot as it'll get. With the way I have my water heater set, that's about 120*F. I fill a deli cup with water and drop the pinks in and put a analog stick thermometer in with them for good measure. When the temp has gone down to 100* or so and holds fairly steady, I know that the temperature has stabilized, meaning the pinkies are the same temperature of the water. I'll dump the water and add more 120* water for a minute or two to get them a little warmer (figuring by the time I get them upstairs, get Vern out and make the first offering, they've cooled to at least 100* if not lower).

Thawing them directly in water washes off any mouse urine that might be on them, and seems to make them plenty appetizing to Vern. Once I got her past her initial refusals, she's never resisted being slipped a mickey (or two).

I just put the pink in a bowl under slowly running very hot water and leave it for a minute or two, till it is hot and pliable. I blot it dry with a paper towel, but many people feed them without drying.

I take it a step further and actually blow dry and style mine...just kidding. :crazy02:

You've gotten good advice so far, but I will add that I slit the backs of my mice 5 or 6 times with a pair of manicure scissors prior to offering it to Roxanne.

Regards,
Steve

I just thaw out my pinkies/mice at room temp until they no longer feel cold. My snakes always eat them. :D

I put mine in hot water (not boiling, just from the tap), for about 10 minutes, then I empty the water, refill it again with hot water to bring the temp back up, then take the pinkie out, dab it dry, then feed it to my snakey!
