Ok , this is fun . this the first time breeding for me . pics will come. Ive got a nice reverse okeetee female and a crimson male het amel. we had 12 egg and 13 hatclings. 5 normal and 8 amel . i dont know which egg had two but im sure goona take a close look in the following weeks to see if they are identicle. curious i know i got to keep thme for a few feeding after they shed. how long do people normally keep them to find their hold backs? anyway im at work ill try get pics this weekend . just wanted to share. Great experience from the lay till the hatching. Love the pipping stage so cool to see their little snouts sticking out .

Congrats! I'll let the pros speak up on picking your holdbacks. What are your breeding goals? That helps picking the hold backs. Of course, sometimes something pops up that wasn't a goal, but is too good to let go and you have to run with it too.

ok , here are a couple pics, the single one is my favorite but this is early and pre shed. then mom and dad in order

Lovely babies and gorgeous parents! I usually base my hold backs on a few things;

Good feeding response
Patterns/colour
Male/Female
Weird looking ones...
And in the case of multiple clutches, future morph goals.

Personally out of your clutch I'd probably keep a pair (or at least a male) of the most reverse-okeetee-ish of the bunch to breed back to mom, or to sibling for even nicer ones! Or if the normals are showing signs of okeetee-ness... Those would be nice too.

I'm with Fuzzoodle (that felt good to say lol) for the most part...I'd keep a pair, but maybe one of the amels and a normal, just to get some variety from their future clutch...They look like they are going to have nice big borders. Have fun picking, they all look pretty sweet and they haven't even shed yet :cheers:
