First Wild Snake! Bittersweet.

Hypno, I still don't understand why people go out of their way to hit animals on the side of the road. I'll stop up traffic to prevent hitting one. I remember a few years back there were a few guineas hens, I think it was, that would follow beside the road every day at the same time. Not sure what they were doing, but one day we drove by and they had all been killed. Someone actually drove OFF the pavement to hit them.

Several years ago I accidentally hit a raccoon. It was late at night (after midnight) and I was speeding, was on my way home from work, the little bugger just jumped right into the road. I didn't even know what it was until I went back, but he was dead. I cried about it the rest of the way home. So I understand how you feel.

I've debated keeping a hook and proper container in my car from now on, just in case we run across anymore snakes on the highway.

I still haven't hit anything myself, but I know that I will feel terrible if and when I do. We have tons of rabbits and ground squirrels here that jump right across the road in the early mornings, especially when you get further out of the city.

And I certainly can't imagine what it would be like to hit a dog or cat! Lately I've seen several dead cats and dogs on the freeway.

I dont drive so I have not hit anything. but when I was dating my huddy hit a coon or a small dog we never did find it one nite on are way home from my mother house I made him stop the car and go look for it. I have seen ppl gun for snake here. My friends mother has hit 2 deer with her a year apart that was heart drinking to see. I was sick.

This is the kind of thing that makes want even more than ever to become a veterinarian so that I can help animals like these before it's to late
