First Year Excitement

Happy dancing over here! Came into the snake room this morning to discover that Salome had left us a pile of pearly whites. I have not counted them yet, but I think we're close to the teens if not in them. Yay yay yay!

Pictures, as promised.

The separated eggs toward the right side are the nine from our miami/miami mot pair, 38 days in.

The cluster (Salome laid 18 eggs!) on the left are a day old and were just plucked out of the lay box, hence the slight puckering. The first clutch was much more dried out when we got them in the incubator, so I'm sure these will plump back up too. No slugs from Salome. Hopefully we have lots of gorgeous babies!

Well. We have an unexpected double clutch happening from Lily. That would, I suppose, explain why she hasn't been eating and has been knocking her water over and climbing around her tank like a crazy thing for the past few days. Poor girl.

I suspect that these are all going to be slugs, but I won't know until I get a better look at them. At least they're not *in* her water dish.

I am anxiously awaiting pips. So excited!

Poor Lily laid another eight eggs. I'm pretty sure most, if not all of them are slugs, but into the incubator they go anyway, just in case.

Oop, forgot to update. Lily ended up laying *ten* eggs. She's eating now, though, so hopefully we get weight back on her soon.

Today marks day 60 of her first clutch. I am trying not to bother the eggs too much. Really. I am. I am. O.O

Day 62 and not even a *hint* of pipping. I have -one- egg that is squishy and has changed color. The others are all still fat and white and happy, though I have a hard time seeing veins in them anymore. (I've never been great at it.)

When do I worry? :p

ETA: The temperature swings from 79 to 84 but sits mostly at 81-82.
ETA2: Never mind. I went looking and saw threads with longer wait times thATCH ALREADY!

I wouldn't worry too much-my eggs never even dimpled at all so I was very surprised when that first pippy was poking out lol

read the post for the first time from the beginning and surprise surprise!
Got left at a cliffhanger post! :p

come on! :p
* fingers crossed

Well, I had to remove Lily's second clutch. A shame, but the eggs had all gone bad.

Still no pippies from the first clutch on day 65.

Salome's eggs at day 28 look good.

Eeee! We have a nose!

My husband came home and decided to check the incubator and there was a nose! On day 69.

Will get pictures when I can.

Picture of the first two to stick their noses out, even a little. This is so exciting, even if we can't really tell what they are.

Still, with a crimson x miami mot, both het for amel, I'm betting we're going to see red. :)
