flake of skin on snout.

there is a small flake of skin on my cornsnake's snout. the humidity stays 40-50% generally.

When was the snake's last shed and was it a whole/complete inone piece?

Without seeing the snake it is impossible for me to say if it is old or whether it is fixing to shed soon. (Snakes start the shed from the snout and peel back in one piece towards the tail.)

I'd recommend taking a damp paper towel and gently rub the area in question. This will generally remove any old skin that might be remaining from a previous shed. The only watchout is that you don't manually peel the snake's skin like you would for a human after a sunburn.

As well, I noticed that after I found my snake (he had gotten out and been out for 2 or 3 days) that he had a couple of loose pieces of skin which I presume was from catching on something. Is it possible that there is anything really rough that your snake could be getting caught on?
