Here's the first pairing: I'm testing the lav for hypo and motley. (This is the lav that was supposed to be female)

Life gives ya fertilizer? Plant roses. I'm hoping to work on lav motleys... so I really want him to be het motley since that will make things a lot easier. ;)

Just rubbing it in a little more...

Here's Brainy (the larger one... female het anery, not het amel)
and Seven (quad het amel anery hypo motley, his mom is the above snow) in their second breeding of the year.

And here's a closeup of their colors. Brainy is on the bottom. She has very smooth coloration, and I want to use her in my pewter projects when I have good males old enough to breed to her. In the meantime, I'll be finding out if she het for motley or hypo. :)

wow

Nice job! I put a pair of my snakes together today for the first time. Although I feel its a bit early up here in Canada I decided to give it a go anyways. hahaha the male was definitly into it but my female just ignored him and he gave up fairly quickly. I will be trying again each week or two until May though!

Hey Guys,
Keep your fingers crossed for me I breed a pair last March and the female gave me 15 eggs yesterday. Talk about a surprise. i hope that they are fertile.

Congraats Serp. Keep us apprised of how things progress. I love this time of year. (Ok, So it's a close second to pipping time!)

I'll be removing my first batch of adults from the big sleep this Monday. After a brief warming period I'll be offering them their first meals since november. Then (hopefully) it'll be my turn to start posting some breeding photos...

Good luck, Serp.

Nice!!!!
I too love breeding season!!! Last year my big fat hypo female just wouldn't let anyone go near her.....so that was a bit of trouble for me.....lol....situation seems similar bmm? LOL and I tried her throughout the whole breeding season...from Feb to July.....and still no luck...she just didn't like the males that I had...o well....

I am like Kevin. I am going to take mine out of 'sleep' on Monday and I'll start feeding soon. But the reason why I am taking out of their sleep on Monday is because I am going to go to a reptile show up here in Canada(anyone else going? I know for sure that Jimmy C is....anyone else??????? bmm, you going?????)

Hope that I'll be posting some of my breeding pics soon....like Kevin...

I guess good luck to all of us out there that are planning to breed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no

I can't make it. Well actually I can. Its just the urge to purchase to many new things is too strong for me! lol. I have to stay at home or else cute baby snake faces and geckos will over power me :) hahaha

Heck, I was wondering if I could get away with keeping them all down in brumation until July! :D

Last year's hatching season just about did me in......

Thank goodness we don't have any back to back shows this year. Getting all of the babies fed in three days between a couple of shows was murder.

Woohoo! First pairing of the year! Amber X Hypo Mot dh Butter :D

*dances around like an idiot*

From Sunday the 16th to last night, I've had 4 pairs mate, 2 pairs did "the dirty deed" twice. I have 5 more pairs almost ready (males eager but females not quite ready to accept their advances). Looks to be a good year!

hey there.

great pics fatsie.

i live in south africa and my corns only breed once a year, how do u get them to breed twice a year.do u keep your corns seperate or in the snake cage before breeding.

thanks

I just keep mine together all year long....the'll breed when they feel like it....or won't if they don't ;)

My snakes are just now starting to breed. Man! That was a long wait! Now I have to wait for eggs, hatching, etc . . .the waiting never really ends, Huh?

No it doesn't....when this years hatchlings are all gone, the waiting begins again....for the next mating season :p

As of last night, 12 pairs mated at least twice. Only 4 more females to go!

Cool!

It's good to hear things are picking up. I've got 3 of 4 females bred, two are about to have their pre-laying shed. The last female is normally well behind the others, and the male I'm insisting on breeding to her isn't overly enthusiastic, so I'm not sure if/when to expect anything from her.
