Forgot to post about my newest edition...

My neighbor breeds what she calls white chocolate labs. I guess they are white with brown/red noses, or is it black noses- not the color nose of yellow labs.

Nanci, my daughter used to have a Yellow Lab that many called "White". He was definately not white in coloration but very light for a "Yellow" lab. The breeder said that this guy was a great example of the so called "white" labs because he has the red nose and yellow eyes. She usually produced yellows with the black nose and brown eyes. This breeder produces tri colored litters and she never breed for color of fur or nose. Yet she loved it when she got a yellow like Ashley's was.

Heres the thing....my HOA has a ban on pits so shhhh! My vet was nice enough to write an evaluation saying he believed her to be lab/chow mix, and her official adoptions papers say "Lab mix"

First off...if I went a bit off topic on your post! Forgive me!

Ban on Pits! Just what is a community calling a Pit nowadays? We have two pure bred APBTs! I love these animals! I am happy your vet was willing to do that for you. Mine vet is the same way on some breeds. If it is a pit mix, he says they are terrier mixes. And that is not a lie if you think about it! LOL He would change ours if the laws change so we dont have to lose our two pups.

The pit forums are interesting, I need to join one!

My cousin is a lawyer and he asked the same thing. It is word "Pit Bulls are expressly prohibited"

It doesn't say APBT, it doesn't say "Straffordshire terrier" and it doesn't say PitBulls and or any combination of a "Pit mix"

Technically she is a mutt.

The slang Pitt Bull (terrier + Bull dog), or usually when they are banned, they mean this..

The American Pit Bull terrier looks like this....

Big difference! I am going to venture they are outlawing the first...

I figure the way they worded, leave me alot of room to argue...

I think I need to start a Pit Bull thread in our forum!

It is very hard to get out of calling my two as a mixed breed. But I wish I could some days. People either love them or hate them. There is no middle ground on a Pit Bull.

Jay has a pit/rottie girl that was all black your lil girl. She was the greatest dog! She cared for the kids and she was great to me when I walked her. Like she knew about my bad lungs. She would never hurt you as long as you didnt go after her kids. She ran one day when Jay was being attacked...lol now but not then. She ran all the way home and jumped the fence and waited at the door for Jay to get back.

But you are right...a big beefy dog with a giant sized chain sure looks scary! It is sad when you have to protect your own dog from the people who live in your community!

Sorry, I'll stop now.
