Time to start a new progression thread!

Why would I not dump out this festering pool of mosquito larvae? I mean, aside from the fact that crows and other birds go there for water throughout the day, although they have a fresh bird bath out at the pump...

Because it's filled with tadpoles! Some of which I harvested and transplanted into my Water Garden.

This is their new home! Actually, I think I'll take some of that floating green plant and bring it to their old home so the ones left behind have something to climb out on.

This was my project yesterday. I have that little swimming pool out there, which has a 12 gauge waterproof extension cord going from a GFI outlet on the house 100 feet out to the pump. So mostly the cord runs along the house, then along the patio and Bog Garden, but it had to cut across the grass to get out there. So I went out to just bury the cord, but ended up setting all the patio stones that are the first half of a walkway from the patio to the landing at my back steps. Glad I was motivated- it looked so bad (ask Carol and Heather!!). Now I just need about 30 more stones to finish it.

I thought tadpoles ate mosquito larvae or do they just eat algae.

Nice looking backyard by the way.

So I brought them four different water plants that will establish in there, plus some lily pads for shade.

I think tadpoles eat everything! I know they eat fish food- they come get it when I feed my fish.

To this water garden, that has a couple hardy waterlilies, a ton of parrot feather and a ton of that water moss or whatever it is, floating on the surface. There are also some kilifish in it. Somewhere...

Can you relocate me to a tent outside of your house?

...that sounded creepier than I meant it to.
