Freakishly small baby won't eat

and what the hell is sir killsalot doing during this?? No motivational speeches, no pep talks, no "this is how you do it" and smearing blood all over the walls?

Nothing????

Really?????

This isn't the same Sir Killsalot I've read about in fables and folklord tales

I know! He's being such a jerk about it too. I asked him for advice and he simply said, "Pink snakes fail at life."

Little Sophie however is taking some tips from the master when it comes to making me look like a liar. Just yesterday I said she doesn't move around her tank and I woke up this morning to find her climbing all over her little vines and grinning at me.

The Dark Lord is awfully pleased with himself today. Let's see how arrogant he is when she grows up big and strong and whoops his butt six ways from Sunday for saying pink snakes fail at life.

So...did you get my package? I sent it out a week ago. :)

Nope not yet but I sure am looking forward to getting it. You are so wonderful for sending it! :)

Little Sophie has climbed all the way to the top of the cool side of her tank to rest her little face on the thermometer. Do ya think she's trying to tell me something? :grin01:

I took a pic because she's finally moving around the tank and I thought it was cute she decided to hang out in a small flower I put near the top for decoration.

I sharpened the image because I want you guys to see her mouth. Is that a small injury or is it my imagination? I have no experience with babies so I don't know if it's normal but the other side of her mouth isn't open like that. She appears to have some dried skin right there. What are your thoughts?

Shes such a pretty little snake ^^ I was just thinking this morning how pretty a pink snow moyley would be :)

It could be dehydrated, have you seen it drink water, or held it over it's water dish. Has it taken to the water? A corn snake won't eat if it is dehydrated eh.

I added the eh to make me sound more Canadian

Although I'm not

i do see what your talking about around the mouth. maybe it has some dried shed that didnt come off and its aggrevating the mouth. you would really have to examine it very closely its hard to tell sometimes with snows. if it is the case then let her soak in a deli cup with water thats just about even with the back of the snake it with give her a chance to drink or atleast absorb some hydration and possibly loosen the shed around the mouth if that is the problem.
hopefully its not mouth rot if it is then a trip to the vet fo rmeds is in order

It's okay that you pose as a Canadian. We're awesome and can understand why you want to be like us.
:grin01:

I thought it might be some dry skin because it doesn't appear to be a cut from what I can see. I soaked her in pedialyte and did see her take a big drink of it. I hadn't seen her drink before so at first I thought she was drowning in a small amount of water. Man did I feel like a moe-ron when I 'rescued' her from drowning and then realized she was drinking the same way my adult corn does. I ate a lot of paint chips as a kid. :p

She'll be starting antibiotics soon and I'll continue with the tube feeding and soaks for as long as she needs. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure I overheard Sir Killsalot call her a typical high maintenance chick and thinks we should rename her Queen Fancypants.

I think you are doing an admirable job. I hope that things work out for your and your pink snake. Keep us in the loop.

Nathan

Knowing Sir Kills he's just waiting for the pink to get healthy so it will be a fair fight

My older corn takes swims all the time, me and her held a contest to see who can hold their breath under water longer, and she killed me by like...well whatever her time was - 30 seconds.

I've also read the thread here called "the saga continues" I think it'll be really helpful for you to read it. If she's that weak, you should try to blend up a pink with a bit of water, and use a syringe to feed her...check out the thread before you start, you'll really learn alot, and hopefully she'll pull through for you. I'm routing for you! Good luck!

LOL! You should challenge her to a staring contest. I'm sure you'll win! Go on, try it!
:grin01:
I did actually challenge Sir Killsalot to a staring contest and found out the hard way that a blinking eye looks an awful lot like live prey to a snake.

Nathan, thank you for the compliment. I'm not sure how admirable I really am though. Sure I tube feed her and bathe her in pedialyte like a good pet owner would but I left out the part where I was laying face down on the floor crying my eyes out and offering to buy her a pink Barbie convertible if she'd even pretend to be interested in eating on her own. I do believe I used the words, "LIE TO ME, SOPHIE!" Then Sir Killsalot, who is a total sweetie said, "Psst, you seem to have lost your dignity. Retrace your steps and see if you can find it." That's really saying something coming from someone who poops on himself.

Well good luck.

I nursed a snake back to health once, he proceeded to thank me by pushing the top off his tank (50 pounds holding it down) and escaping.

Till this day I have no idea how he did it, and my mom loved having a snake in the house. Guess some snakes were meant to be wild

God I just want to cry. I have done everything in my power to help little Sophie and every time she seems to make some progress, something happens to set her way back. She regurgitated the tiny amount of food she had in her belly and I actually saw it happen. It was by far one of the most horrible things I've ever seen. I felt so powerless to help her when I saw her throwing up that little puddle of food.

I'm sorry for the pity party but I'm really failing at this and it breaks my heart that she's suffering. I've lost all hope that she's going to make it.
