I plan on getting a corn in the near future and just wanted to get my viv setup ahead of time to be sure i had my temps and humidity under control before the snake arrives. I am using a 20l with repti bark as the substrate. I do have a couple questions about the temps and humidity. Currently the warm side is around 95, which i know is too high. I will be getting some way to control this, either a rheostat or a thermostat. The cool side is currently around 79 degrees, which makes sense being that is what the thermostat in my room is set to. Is this too high for the cool side? If it is, is there any way of keeping that side cooler without actually lowering the a/c in the house?
And now the humidity....since the repti bark is pretty moist, right down at its level the humidity is around 80-85%. About an inch above the substrate it drops down to about 50-55%. Should i be concerned with this? If need be, i can set the viv out in the sun for a couple hours to try to dry the stuff out a bit. I wanted to get aspen, however, petco was out :flames:
I also want to say thanks for all of the valuable information provided on these forums, it is invaluable to the new or prospective corn owner.
Now comes the hard part...choosing a morph!
