Ghost Bloods

This year I bred an amel stripe blood to an anery blood het for hypo, and got a pleasant surprise - unbeknown to me, the amel was het for both hypo and anery, so I got two ghost bloods, which are het for amel and stripe. Here are a few pics.

Thanks for looking!

Those are a couple of stunning snakes! I love the color and their pattern, or should I say the lack of a side pattern! :)

Congrats on the surprise hets!

Man you are one lucky guy! I bet you were trying to prove out the Amel Striped “Blood” and not only proved him out, but got Ghost Bloods het Striped Amel, OH MY!

You are a true sleuth, because that is exactly what I was trying to do - actually prove out the amel striped blood (he did prove out) and at the same time see if the anery blood possible het stripe female was in fact het stripe (she is not, no stripes). The hypo gene was a surprise. I knew the female was het hypo, but as far as the male went his grandparents were only possible het hypo, but in the next generation I got no hypos so I forgot about it. But one of the parents obviously carried the hypo gene, and passed it on to the next generation (amel striped blood male). So now I will do that cross every year, because the results wewre outstanding.

Thanks for your kind words, and thanks to everyone for the comments on these - it is always an incredible thrill to see any hatchlings come out, and when it is such a pleasant and unexpected surprise like this it is even better.
