On the 13th of september we are going away on holiday for a week, now, my questions is...if i feed my snake on the friday evening, will he be ok till i come home on the 20th or would it be better to ask my son to come & feed him in the week,(he has never done this before or seen me do it) bearing in mind that he is only about 5 months old, we could take him with us, but i thought that a 3 hour car journey would stress him more than missing a meal for a couple of days, what do you think??
Marg.

At five months old, I'd say he won't take any harm from not eating for a week, as long as he's been eating reliably beforehand.

I reckon you could just ask your son to come in once during the week and change the water.

I agree that the car journey has the risk of doing more harm than good.

The bad thing about having anyone come snakesit is we hear about a lot of escapes happening under the other person's care- cages don't get latched right, whatever. I'd leave two bowls of water.

Thanks for those replies, much appreciated, i will ask Paul to change the water while we are away & watch out for Rio escaping, (I'll kill him if he lets that happen)
Marg.
