Good Pinkie supplier...

More is better...
Has anyone had any experience with TheMouseFactory.com or CRMR (Colorado Rocky Mountain Rodents) (coloradorodents.com) for frozen feeders? I would like to order 100 pinkies so that I don't have to rely on a pet store's stock or me having to drive 60 miles for food.

I noticed, for example that AmericanRodent.com has been mentioned, but not living in the 1-2 day zones for UPS makes shipping more expensive because I would have to pay for FedEx.

I am looking for good quality, but also a a goot "per meal" cost.

Your input is greatly appreciated.

Steven

Have you tried these:
Big Cheese Rodent Factpry
Rodentpro
Where in OR is Lebanon? Seems weird UPS can't get there in time

Good Pinkie Supplier...

Hi Jen,

Lebanon is about 1/2 way between Salem and Eugene. I CAN get things overnight. My comment was related to the Shipping info on American Rodent Supply:

"UPS Ground - For small and large orders, this is an excellent way to go. If you are in our one or two day zones, then you can use this method of shipping."

I am not in their 1 -2 day zones.

I will check out Big Cheese Rodent Factory.

Thank you for your help.

Steven

Big Cheese is excellent. Chad is really good to work with. Their mice are also top quality. I have used several suppliers in the past as well as breeding myself. At this point in time there are only 2 suppliers I will use. One is local and has a very select client list cause he mostly sells his overflow. The other is Big Cheese. Anything happens and I can't buy from one of these 2 I go back to raising my own.

P.S. Rich Z. has also highly recommended Big Cheese in the past.

i've ordered from big cheese, rodentpro, and american rodent. it's too bad you're out of the 2 day zone. i would recommend big cheese over rodentpro. i'm not sure which would be cheaper on you.

I don't remember this but I know he used Cajun for years. All I can recall is him stating he was thinking of trying to BCRF.

I raise my own but have done business with BCRF in the past and Chad is excellent to work with!

I dont know how often you get up to Portland but you should check out icecoldmice (http://www.icecoldmice.com). The guy's name is Joel and he has some good prices. He may be able to ship to you by priority mail for much less than others. if you are interested we may even be able to split an order and I could ship it to you. Let me know.

personally i wouldn't order from rodentpro. I've had bad experiences with them so i'm looking for another company. I think i'm gonna go with Big Cheese.

I purchased a 50 pack of pinkies directly from RodentPro at a reptile show. The feeders were all in great condition and are currently holed up in my freezer, scaring the crap out of my roommate every time she opens it :toiletgra

I think it was in a BIO thread I saw it. He was having trouble finding small pinkies and Chad was able to get him what he needed.

RodentPro tends to have good and bad shipments. I have ordered from them and been very happy with the mice. Then the next shipment is covered in urine and feces. Just not willing to take that chance ever again. That and their shipping is about 2x to 3x what I pay for shipping at Big Cheese.

Just putting another .02 in...

I decided it was definitely getting too expensive to buy frozen pinks/fuzzies from the local pet store.
I just got my order from Big Cheese Rodents and I have to say I am impressed. It cost me less than 1/3 of what it would have at the petstore for 100 each pinks/fuzzies, and that included the shipping. They arrived still fully frozen, very clean and pretty uniform in size. Of the 30 I pulled out to feed tonight, none had any missing limbs or discoloration.
A good product and a savings of almost $150, that means I can spend more on other things, or more snakes :D.I had been dragging my feed about ordering bulk, but I'm definitely going to be using them in the future.
Just thought I would share since there are always questions about frozen suppliers.
