i was looking on line at thermostats on petcos site and found this one...the link wont show up but got to on line.petco.com and then search thermostats and it comes up...its called ReptiTemp 500R Remote Sensor Thermostat... does anyone have any experience with it? it says it controls 2 devices at one time and can keep temps. the right temp...is this worth the money i would spend or is there a better product out there...?

You can find that thermometer on line for about $18-20, much less than Petco's MSRP. I have three of those- they work ok.

Big Apple Herp has one called the BAH-1000 which is $32. I would buy that if I were you. It seems to hold the temp a little steadier than the Zoo Med. Also, it has a fail-safe that shuts down the UTH if it reaches a certain temp.

To find the Zoo Med, you could use froogle.com to find the lowest price, if that is your main concern.

thanks...i need one that can maintain the temp and not get it too hot or chilly while i am at school...i just read a thread about how helpful ypou were and now i know it too:D...thanks:D...

You and that BAH thermostat Nanci you always beat me into these topics :grin01:

I of course do have the reptitemp 500r and I work at petco (but of course I didn't buy it there) I got it for 19.99 at www.reptilesupply.com and once the operator (me) realized how to correctly use and place the thing I have found my tempatures to be regulated quite well as I have the thermostat set up a week before the snake. :crazy02:
