Google Goats

HA! Living on 20 acres of land with 10 of those acres being open and needing to be mowed once a week, I'd gladly get goats to do it for me,if I could afford it!

if you bought the goats it wouldn't be much.. about 5 goats could keep down at least MOST of 5 acres.. But this story is a little weird.. They should have gotten cows. they eat much more grass!!

wow...that's a big job you have there. Would you rent them or just buy them?

Meh. I'd probably just buy them. Why not? I already have 7 cats(indoors),3 dogs,8 snakes and a fish. What would a herd of goats hurt? LOL! I know the kids have been begging us for years to let them get some pygmy goats but I highly doubt they'd keep my lawn "mowed".

I don't actually do the mowing, though. Hubs and his Dad do that! Together, on two mowers, it takes about 4-5 hours and within a week it all needs to be done again. Gets really tedious! A couple of years ago,we planted the whole side of our steep hill with flowers,so that they don't have to mow that side. It was getting dangerous.

Oh dear. 4-5 hours of mowing? well at least they'd serve a double-function as a kid entertrainment squad and grass cutters lol

We've been trying to convince the FIL to get one for at least the back 5 that isn't even seen. I mean I understand mowing the half that everybody sees(he's a perfectionist and we have to have those weird looking lines)but that back half could just grow wild for all I care! There's nothing back there at all!

See that big hill? Yeah. There's another 4-5 acres behind it that have to be mowed too!
