I am freaking out! My Gravid butter just regurged. I know the regurge protocol and have dealt with it before, but not with a gravid female. She just had her pre lay shed, so should I wait to feed again until after she lays?
I think it is generally recommended not to feed snakes that are heavily gravid, because of this. I would wait until she lays, then give her a single fuzzy rolled in Nutribac.
Thanks for the reply. She is a big girl but never refuses food. Been giving her small fuzzies since I knew she was gravid. 1st time she regurged so I am freakin.
I agree with Michelle, definitely wait until after she lays (wait ten days even if she lays before that time is up) and offer a small food item.
When they have all those eggs in them it's a good idea to feed small items more often. Many snakes that are that heavily gravid don't want to eat anyway. Every once in a while there's a snake like yours that is just an eating machine though lol.
If she is a big girl she should be just fine.
