Hi Everyone, I got a great surprise yesterday as I was going through the feeding process of my kids.( snakes )
One of my females was in the process of laying eggs. (15 total)
The thing is that I bred this female last March. I kept her with an egg laying container for about 4 months after and then just gave up hope. It has been almost a year. She flipped her hide over and was laying her eggs in the empty hide.

My question is, Is this normal for them to wait so long before laying or was it that the conditions were not good enough??

I just hope that they are fertile!!! Yahoo!!!

I know that females an retain sperm from previous matings, but I don't know the time limit that the sperm will remain viable. It seems like a long time for your snake to have held the sperm to have fertile eggs now, but I hope I'm wrong. Good luck and congradulations!

Thanks Susan, So far they look good. There is a funky smell coming from the container that I have them in but the colour looks good in all.
Even if I get only one hatching I would be thrilled.
