Green Tree Python hatchlings making a debut!

The yellow is gorgeous too but there's just something about those reds..

The pic pridecity posted is from Finding Nemo. ;)

I'm no pro, but I think that shot with the red and yellow looking at each other is a way better photo than the calender submission. It's awsome!
BTW, what size of viv and conditions are needed for an adult GTP?

Thanks! 2x2x2 foot minimum is preferred but 2x3x2 is better if you can manage. I've seen people successfully breed them in small, glass aquariums, but just because they sometimes can doesn't mean they should...

Conditions are pretty simple - low to mid 80's ambient temp and moderate humidity. The main misconception about husbandry with these guys is that a lot of people think the humidity needs to be super high. They'll develop RIs just like any other species at high humidity, so 50-70% is OK for adults, but neonates need to be a little more humid because of the risk of dehydration (same for most other species I would think). I spray ours daily, especially this time of year, because they drink off of their coils (they'll drink out of water bowls too, but I like to be safe and make sure they get an option).

Some of them start early too... our first green scales started at 3 months with our last clutch!

I'm still shocked at how a hatchling corn changes as it matures but wow what a change with the GTP. Who would ever guess that the dark red would change so drastically!

I like how the reds keep their red eyes.
How big do they get?

They do lose the red eyes eventually, unfortunately....

but there is this cool in-between phase where they are green with red eyes!

Just an update:

It's a good thing I'm not a doctor, because I "officially" marked the 12th hatchling as "Dead in egg" on our records the other night, only to have it start pipping the following morning. He came out at a comparable weight to the rest (13g) and bit me twice on the way to the scale, so apparently (s)he's feeling good!

Now to wait for the sheds and we can begin feeding trials!

Then we get to do it all over again next month :)
