Guess she can't do fuzzies yet...

Maize411

Hooked for life!!
I finally got my scale in and I weighed Maize...She is only 19 grams..which according the the scale chart means she should only be getting two pinkies still...so I guess throwing out the other 2 fuzzies wasn't a total loss..I'm going to the store to buy her food in a bit...Guess I'm going to be buying her more pinks for now...I just hope I didn't do her bad by giving her a fuzzie...she never regurged it and she seems okay now so I'm guessing there was no harm done..The only other thing is 2 days ago I went to take her out and saw she was in blue and her color looked dull...now today she is not in blue and her color is brighter again..but I have not found any shed skin in the tank...so I don't know if she shed or not...It's strange...

The feeding table is just a rule of thumb. I've noticed with my snakes that they seem to grow in spurts. Length and then girth (has anyone else noticed this?). It's there girth more then there weight that matters. If you have questions about if she's to small for a fuzzie then I'd stick with the pinkies for a few weeks. It's safer to give to small then to big.

she may have been going in to a pre shed stage but withdrawled from it...did she still have a lump when she was blue?

any chance she was in her water dish before you saw her last?

That would make the colors a bit brighter i'd think.

Here some photos I just took of her a few minutes ago..

let me just say that the camera made her colors much more vibrant then they really are..her saddles are actually a much darker red het..almost maroonish..and her body color is still very light tinted..
