Gun safes?

Carinata

Ever Evolving Exotics
Over the last couple months I've accumulated several rifles and even though I keep them in a locked room, I really need a safe for them. What kind of safes do some of the gun fans here use? I need something to accomodate rifles and shotguns as well as ammo. I would like one with a key lock I can set in my reptile room. Any ideas?

What ever you get do not get one with a digital keypad. I know a few people that had those. If you let the battery run dead in the key pad it will reset your safe combo number and you cannot get into your safe! I know 2 guys on a gun forum that accidently let the battery run dead and they both ended up having to cut open their safe (which was no easy task mind you!) to get their guns out. one of them had to use a plasma cutter and had to be very careful not to ruin any of his guns because of the melting medal falling inside the safe. Stick with something that is mechanical.

O and btw, there is no reset number. When it resets it resets a random number so you cant call the compony and get the default number.

Mine has a digital keypad with AC back-up. Or you can use a key. If you can find the key that you hid in a snake viv, somewhere.

Yeah. Good thing I have a back up key- because I can't find the snake viv one!!

I just have a small safe. It's so hidden no one could ever find it, and if they did, it's bolted into a shelf in a dresser, (and the screws are inaccessible) so they'd have to steal the whole thing!!

My shotgun is always out, (but concealed) and if I leave the house unattended I lock it with a gun lock.

I am looking at at Stack On safes and a Field and Stream safe. Really liking the Stack On safe. I've got 9 guns to put in it so I was going to buy the 16 gun safe. So I have room for growth ;)

Now that is nice! I cant remember for the life of me the ones that they used. I just remember they had to cut open their safes and they were not happy about it.

I have a couple Cannon safes. They're decent and work for what I use them for.

Mine have key backup. Also they have a program reset button inside that allows to reprogram and allow multiple combos.

Get bigger. Mine are 28 gun safes and there is noway I would try and put 28 long guns in them. Things would get beat up especially if they have scopes etc.

I have a Stack-on. I really like it, it works great. Only problem is, my gun collection is starting to outgrow it!
