Guys I need Everyone's help

My parents won't let me have my snake because they say they suffer a lot and that they are not good pets so could you help me telling in here why7 they are good pets? thx a lot guys!

Well, my list of why snakes are excellent pets is:
1. They are not smelly (at least not corns)
2. They get fed once a week (depending on age), so you can leave for a few days and your snake will be fine.
3. No taking them for walks. You take them out when you want. They don't need attention so they don't get sour if you don't play with them for a while.
4. they can eat frozen/thawed mice, so they can be stored in your freezer.
5. They may not be cuddly, but they make excellent pets and can be very gentle and harmless. Even if you do get bitten, it isn't nearly as bad as getting bitten by a cat or a dog (and most people aren't afraid of cats or dogs, are they?) when a baby corn snake bites you, you hardly feel it. when a small dog bites you, you go to the hospital (at least this has happened to me).
6. Snakes are just so neat and interesting and EDUCATIONAL I mean, researching and having an interest in snakes will ultimately lead to do some research on genetics anyway, so why not make the educational argument?

Hope this helped at all! Good luck!

They suffer, eh?

Inform your parents that when you purchase a captive bred cornsnake, you provide it in an optimum environment free from all predators. It never has to worry about fluctuating climates, because you provide temperature controls. It's humidity levels will always be at optimum conditions, it never has to hunt for food or compete with other snakes, it never has to worry about fresh, clean water, nor the parasites that often lice and infect corns that drink from stagnant water. It will never suffer from the effects of mites or ticks, will never feel a bite from another snake or other predator, never has to worry about getting eaten by a bird of prey or run over by a vehicle.

As keepers of snakes, we do everything in our power to ensure that our snakes are kept in optimum conditions and do NOT suffer from even the tiniest bit of stress related to life "in the wild". If nothing else, we take a snake and remove all of the negative threats associated with wild living, and optimize all of the positive attributes of wild living.

It's a win-win-win situation...the snake wins by living the most care-free life possible, you win by having a great pet, and your parents win by allowing you to have a pet that is quiet, clean, inexpensive to maintain, generally docile, and takes up no more room than a 20long aquarium in your bedroom.

Theres alot of people who wouldnt classify "You can store their mice in your freezer" as a good thing LOL but Ditto everything else!

Also... corn snakes, even in the wild, don't have huge territories. They only venture out to 1) find food, or 2) find a boy/girlfriend. Under your care, it will never have to worry about food, so it will be more than happy to live in what your parents precieve to be a small container. As for the second reason they venture...well, if it doesn't know what it's missing, it won't miss it (much).
