I agree, It is sad if there is a lost of interest by most! But I assure you both My wife and I are very interested, just not able to afford them at this time but we are going to try and make some as well! All ready have some cool orchid things in the works. I am sure you (Steve) will have them before us, but it would cool if we got them 1st.

I have an interview for a new job tomorrow, and if I get it, I will treat myself to a "luxury corn snake." The choice will be hard! Amel orchid? Orchid blood? (Assuming you have any of those for sale. Also, a good trade name for a diffused amel orchid would be "fire flower". Fire coming from amel diffused and flower coming from orchid. Corny Super Mario reference. Just putting that out there.)

As for declining interest, there is hardly ever a time where only one person is viewing this thread. I'm sure a lot of people follow it religiously. I think you so consistently wow us that there's a point where saying "awesome baby Steve" just doesn't feel like enough! But I can imagine the economy has had an effect...it is hard for some people to justify paying hundreds for a reptile. I also think it's really important for to try to reach out to young people. At some point I plan on doing a presentation to biology classes at the high school down the road from me. They're the next generation of potential herpers and people develop a passion for reptiles by getting to see and handle them. When I was in 1st grade my mother brought me home a garter snake that I never asked for, and it all escalated from there.

Ok, done pontificating. I'm ready for more babies!

It amazes me how so many people are willing to spend so much money on ball pythons which have no personality compared to corns and have nowhere near the genetic variety when it comes to colors. And yet there seems to be such limited interest in the high end corns. Hopefully things will turn around.

I was just joking with that comment about the Striped Amel Orchid lol.

I see the interest still, especially on FB for some reason. I actually have the most pre-orders I've ever had! It's actually getting to the point where next year I'm not gonna do pre-orders because it's a bit overwhelming trying to take care of all the animals setting up hatchlings, getting them feeding and then worrying about who ordered what. Making sure I don't miss someone in all the craziness.

It also seems like the high end stuff is selling very well, but mostly overseas. I've already had many offers for the Orchid morphs. Not sure if I'll let some of it go, but it's nice to know someones willing to pay the asking price. :)

Hmmm....*gears turn in head* I think I'll wait until someone breeds two together before I speculate too much :)

How many of the sunkissed offspring in that clutch had normal coloration?
