Well yesterday I got a call from a friend of sorts in Houston asking me to pick up a free cornsnake she had found on Austin Clist. She asked if I would keep it a few days till she could make the trip up to get it.... So I make arrangements to pick it up today, get the snake, call the friend..... she no longer wants the snake...
So it looks like I have a snake now!
Rosie is an unxexed 11 yr old corn that has been with this family since she was a baby. Son is now in college and no longer interested in his childhood pet
From what I read up about corns last night it looks like they have been taking good care of it (although it was on pine shavings).
Eats frozen/thawed mice, friendly to handle.
I have in in a 10g on aspen with a hide log and a bath. My house is currently reading ambiant temps between 80-85F, so I don't think it needs supplemental heat at the moment.
When I have surgery and get back to work I will try and pick up a 20L for it.
After a quick bath to de-poop (it pooped all over the pillowcase), weighing (172g), fast photo shoot and an explore of the new tank, Rosie is happily coiled up in the hide
So folks... Any hints, tips, comments?
Any idea on what morph it is?
This is not my first reptile as I have 4 leo geckos too
