Great news!! My little king was a fussy eater at first too...I was puzzled because all the others I've met have been CHOW HOUNDS.

Lucky you!! We have had Jewels for one month now and have yet to get her to eat! We have tried several different sized F/T, tried splitting them, tried giving just the head and even reverted to a live fuzzy today...of which she also refused!! So we gave it to another one who ate it right up...hope to never have to do that again!! Jake cried because he wanted to keep it as a pet but we explained to him that it didn't even have its eyes opened yet and wasn't able to eat without his mom. I don't know what the deal is with Jewels..the previous owner says she won't eat until the end of breeding season...we have even tried breeding her and nothing!! Frustrating!!

Congratulations!!

I've had a female refuse for _months_ right through the breeding season. Something like November till April. It will be okay! Just keep offering every ten to 14 days or so. Have you tried a rat pink or fuzzy yet? (FT).

No I haven't, might try and get some. My last king was a pig, this boy is nervous in comparison-maybe thats why.
4riscorn-I have had some luck for non feeders by making feather hats for the mice...get a day old chick and remove part of thigh with feathers on and cover mouse head with it. Has worked a treat with young corns which refuse.xx
