Head flattening

LOL Gailleann must have bigger teeth. I definitely knew I had been bitten, besides the fact that I saw her mouth on each side of my knucke the second time, because it was like I had found some nettles. Didn't hurt per se, but I was rubbing at it for awhile as it stung a wee bit.

When I went to get her out of the bathtub after the photo session, I used a razor to attract her attention so I could get my hands on her :D Of course, she still bite me, but at least she wasn't striking at me and causing me to jump :D

How big is Gaillean??

Raven is only 13/14 inches and about half the size of my little finger. One day when I was putting her into the feeding tub she leaped of my right hand and bit a finger on my left hand and latched on. I got my camera phone out of my pocket but she let go before I got a chance to take a photo.

The reason I'm asking how big your snake is, is that I was wondering what size they get when it does start to hurt incase I can't get her out of the habit. :shrugs:

As long as you keep ignoring the bites, and continue doing whatever it is you're doing, she *should* learn that biting does no good, and settle down. She also needs to learn that you are not a predator and that you aren't going to hurt her or try to eat her. This might take some time, but my understanding is that they will *usually* settle down as they get older and more secure.

Well, she's only 15". I don't know that I would say it really hurt, as I said it was more like touching a nettle. Not deep enough to draw first blood :)

head flattening

(from Katt) Our 8 month old does this ofetn, but while playing! Let me try to set the picture. Mishu's fun time while being held consists of getting tangled into my fiance's glasses, coiling in my hair, and playing what we call "peek-a-boo", meaning he'll poke his head out between my fingers, "sniff" around, then turn himself sideways, flatten his head, and tuck back into my hand. He has yet to flatten his head at any other time, so it's interesting to learn it is also a defense mechanism. But like I said, when Mishu does it, he in a playful and curious mood, and doesn't act threatened at all.
Very nice pics of the occurance, weebonilass!
