Hi Coty,
I don't really have any concerns about it, but i haven't got anything under the heat mat, so the heat can go down as well as upwards to keep Rio warm, so have been thinking about putting something under the mat to stop that happening, my son in law uses slate for their lizards to bask on, so just thought it might work for me. If that isn't going to help, i will need to rethink, perhaps a wall tile, it has to be something that will stop the heat going downwards.
What is "plexiglass?? perhaps it is something you can get in the USA.
My snake never seems to burrow under the substrat, he is either in his hides or round & about the viv, never seen him underneath.
I have got a thermostat with a probe also a digital thermometer with a probe.
I think & hope your temperatures in the usa are higher than here in England, at the moment we have got temps of 67/68f degs mid day, so not very warm at the moment.
Thanks for your help.
Marg.
